The Power of Daily Affirmations: Speak Courage Into Your Life

In the very first session with my coaching clients, I almost always suggest incorporating daily affirmations. In fact, I love throwing in a weekly mantra during my midweek Inspiration & Motivation podcast to keep that momentum going!

Why? Because our thoughts shape who we are. When you intentionally choose positive, uplifting thoughts, you pave the way to living your absolute best life.

The Mind-Body Connection

I was deeply influenced by the legendary Louise Hay—founder of Hay House, brilliant author, and iconic inspirational leader—who taught us that we truly have the power to heal ourselves. Her secret weapon? Daily affirmations. She reminded the world that our thoughts become our reality.

Louise suggest looking into the mirror as we say these affirmations. Well I must confess, I’ve had clients tell me: "Looking in the mirror and saying affirmations feels a bit too intense for me."

And you know what? That is completely okay.

  • If you're comfortable looking yourself in the eye and declaring an affirmation: Do it! It penetrates a little deeper, reaching your soul faster and weaving that courage directly into your DNA.

  • If it feels awkward or uncomfortable: Skip the mirror!

Your journey is uniquely yours. You need to do what feels right and authentic to you. The real goal of daily affirmations is simply to help you grow, love, and honour yourself—so you can share your unique gifts and gratitude with the world.

12 Affirmations for Your Courage Journey

Below is a curated list I share with my Courage Journey clients.

Try this mini-challenge: Pick one affirmation from the list below and write it on a sticky note. Place it on your bathroom mirror. Every time you see it, repeat it out loud three times. I bet by the third time, you’ll really start to feel it!
  • I appreciate every situation from a place of love.

  • I am unique—which is pretty darn cool.

  • Every decision I make is the right one for me.

  • I can forgive myself because I am human.

  • I focus my attention on positive thoughts.

  • I am the creator of my own luck.

  • I acknowledge my accomplishments, especially the small ones.

  • I love learning and growing.

  • I am lucky!

  • I appreciate myself no matter what.

  • I am a good listener.

  • I am AMAZING!
